Your Safe Space: a guided meditation

As I imagine many of you are, I’m feeling quite anxious at the moment. I’m making sure I practice Transcendental Meditation twice a day, get some sunshine on my face as soon as I spot any, and try not to endlessly feed myself news from social media.

I know that as a voice over I’m unlikely to ever be saving lives, and right now as a family, we’re quarantined for another 8 days so my contributions within my local community are minimal. I hope this short guided visualisation might at least contribute a moment of calm for someone that needs it.

This is a guided meditation to help you find your very own safe space to rest and relax. It’s quite short, about 10 minutes. I’d recommend listening to it in a quiet place, somewhere you won’t be interrupted. Please don’t listen if you’re driving, although I’d hope you don’t ever drive with your eyes closed. I should also point out, it’s designed to be a pause in your day if you’re looking for something to help you sleep, let me know as I have some tried and tested ideas for that too.

And, if at any point you wish to stop, simply open your eyes.

Please do let me know if it is useful to you. Wishing you some peace and calm where you can find it.

The smallish print:

Many years ago I trained as a hypnotherapist and qualified as a HypnoBirthing Practitioner. I’m studying for an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology and have dipped a toe into mindfulness teacher training. But I’m sharing this guided meditation with you as something I regularly use for myself, and not in any kind of professional capacity.
