Hire an established voiceover.

I’m an established voiceover. I’ve been around the block a few times, built a number of voiceover booths, worked with my kids, and tried my hand at most genres of voiceover. I still remember when I was trusted to voice my first national radio campaign, and that aired 20 years ago!

Once all three of my children started voicing, it seemed wise to set up my own Limited Company, and I did that in June 2011. It felt impossibly grownup at the time and I certainly couldn’t imagine 10 years into the future at that point. Now I’m just amazed to look back and reflect on how much has happened in those 10 years.

All change!

Aside from the fact that my children are now all teenagers (and Rosie has left school), I’ve also moved house, taken on a big renovation project, and am looking forward to unveiling my new studio and all the plans and ideas that come with that, over the upcoming weeks and months.

Great memories.

There have definitely been some personal highlights. Working in-person with legendary LA voiceover coach Nancy Wolfson and schmoozing in Hollywood certainly sprinkled some stardust. My voice attended a record-breaking event from Jaguar, and the launch of the Range Rover Velar, both while I watched online in my pyjamas from home. I’ve been honoured to offer a reassuring voice for the NHS during the COVID pandemic, am still having great fun as station voice for hyper-local Radio Newquay, couldn’t help but giggle when my voice met Brian Blessed in a series of radio ads, and shed more than a few tears helping to tell Dr Amit Patel’s incredible story for Toyota.

I’m immensely proud of all I’ve achieved in this time. But I’m also tremendously grateful for the wonderful clients I’ve had the opportunity to work with.

If you’re one of them, thank you. You’ve helped make these past 10 years a joy.

Looking to the future.

It’s hard to imagine 10 years into the future, and I’m not quite ready to share my hopes and dreams yet. But rest assured, there are plans afoot and plotting underway to make the next 10 years at least as exciting again.

Celebrating 10 years.

Today I celebrate 10 years as a limited company, and raise a glass to those clients that are now friends, fledgling new relationships that are currently being nurtured, and all the lovely people I’m yet to meet.
