TV commercial voiceover
Nominated for Best Visual Ad
A tv commercial voiceover I provided for Cirque du Soleil’s UK 2018 show, OVO, is a finalist at this year’s VOX Awards.
It’s been shortlisted for Best Visual Ad, and I’m very proud to be the voiceover for both this and their current campaign in the UK for their 2019 show, TOTEM.
I think the last time I won something significant was in 1982. I was presented with a £5 WHSmiths token for best colouring in a Wokingham Carnival competition. I was pretty excited then too.
Voicing for radio and tv are my first loves. Commercial work is particularly enjoyable as it’s often a collaboration, and an opportunity to work with a producer and clients in real-time to create the end product they can hear in their heads.
There’s some impressive competition in this category. I’ve been attending VOX for nearly 20 years and this is the first time something I’ve worked on has been nominated. It’s wonderful to be up there, and a joyful thing to be a finalist. As you might imagine, I’m humbled to see my name alongside the cream of the UK’s voiceover artists.
A sincere thank you especially to Paul at voiceovers.co.uk for making it happen. And congratulations to everyone that’s made the shortlist that includes seasoned industry professionals across radio and tv in the UK. It should be a fantastic party!
