A voiceover story: Dr Amit Patel and Toyota #StartYourImpossible

Project updates, industry news, and tips for getting the best results when working with a voiceover.

Running your  voiceover business.

I've included a few affiliate links for business tools and memberships which I've found to be invaluable. I only ever recommend these services if I use them myself.

Some basic studio kit if you're just getting started, a couple of my personal studio favourites, and two excellent books to help you deliver fantastic reads every time. (As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases).

When things get busy and you need to get organised, you have a couple of options. You can hire someone to help, or start making the most of automation and productivity apps. Dubsado combines a CRM with scheduling and workflow tools for client relationship management. Think canned emails, on-boarding questionnaires and signed contracts, just for starters. You can try it free, and if you then choose to sign up you'll get 20% off your first month or year via my link.

FLOWN has expanded rapidly in the time I've had a membership. Initially offering online body-doubling for accountable working, for example, a guided hour of deep focus to complete a document, they now offer sessions to help you kick off your day, breathwork sessions, Power Hours, and Drop-In sessions. And if you don't want to work "live" there are pre-recorded sessions to keep you company. I'm still feeling my way but love a Monday kick-off to get my plan straight for the week ahead.

Coaching: So, you want to be a voiceover?

Let's start with the basics.

Burning question? Click the link to book 15 minutes of my time.

If you're looking for voiceover training, the only teacher I recommend is Nancy Wolfson at Braintracks Audio. Why? Because I've trained with her myself, I've made a demo with her that's booked me countless jobs, and her industry connections mean she has access to real jobs at industry rates.

Busy Brains: productivity, motivation, and pausing

The Good Things Project looks to science to find the simplest things to make every day better. Click through to listen to six short (less than 5 minutes each) meditations to pause, refresh, and reboot. A perfect pick-me-up during your work day. You just need five minutes.

A gentle hypnotherapy audio to help you find a safe space in your day to relax and unwind. Plenty of people have told me they've nodded off to this one so make sure you're warm and comfortable before you start!

Four 30-minute 1:1 sessions delivered in the way that works best for you and your brain, using a mix of video, audio, and text. We'll be focused on keeping it simple and moving you forward.

If the ideas are flowing, the to-do list is growing ever longer and you don't know how to take that first step, click the link to send me an email. I have a few more places left for this beta round.

Money For Nothing (UK only).

Quidco is a simple way to get cashback from online retailers. It can take a while for the cashback to register, but I've been a member for longer than I can remember and have had over £2k in cashback. (If you join via my link I may get a referral payment when your confirmed cashback reaches £5).

The Airtime Rewards app is specifically for getting money off your mobile bill with O2, EE, Vodafone and others. You link your credit and debit cards and it then automatically tracks your spending at over 100 retailers rewarding you with 1% to 12% cashback for purchases. You can use it alongside other cashback sites like Topcashback and Quidco. (If you join via my link I get 50p!)
